Crack-bridging Protective Driving Surfaces

The G3 OS-11 system will bridge existing cracks and cracks occurring after application as well as accommodating dynamic crack movements due to traffic loading and temperature changes on structures designed, constructed and performing to BS 8110.

ROADCOAT G3 OS-11 fulfils and exceeds the maximum requirements of  BS EN 1504-2 Surface Protection Systems for Concrete.

BS EN 1504-2 requires a surface protection system with, among other properties static and dynamic "crack bridging ability"in order to protect exposed decks from the ingress of de-icing salts and other corrosion inducing agents. Such systems must accommodate new static cracks and dynamic crack movements induced by traffic loading and temperature change.

Requirements Table 1.13 Notes: The required crack bridging ability shall be selected by the designer with respect to local conditions (climate, crack widths and crack movement).

The Dynamic Crack Bridging Ability of G3 OS-11 exceeds by  50% the  BS 8110 maximum design crack movement.

G3 OS-11 ENHANCED

G3 OS-11 ENS Enhanced Non-Slip is required for all ramps, recommended for exits/entrances and should be used on other such critical areas.

G3 OS-11 ECB Enhanced Crack Bridging - 1.2 mm dynamic movement at - 20 ° C
Developed for old structures pre-BS-8110 design, where these very high levels of dynamic crack movement were identified by testing.

For each project, ROADCOAT will advise on the
usage of G3-OS 11 ENS and/or G3-OS 11 ECB.

Marking

G3 Hi-MARK

Its elastic properties allow this 3-4 mm thick marking to accommodate normal movements and deformations of the substrata without loss of adhesion, cracking, or reduction of the elastomeric properties of the G3 OS-11.

G3 Hi-Lite

This tough, wear resistant marking system was developed as a highly visible, long lasting line marking system.
